Joy to The Town! Day #1 | Friday, December 13
Before diving into the festivities of Joy to the Town!, join the community for a free concert featuring the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir. This inspiring group of singers, hailing from diverse backgrounds, will fill the air with uplifting gospel and spiritual music. Led by the talented Terrance Kelly, the choir promises to deliver a performance that will move your soul.
To kick off the first annual Joy to The Town! weekend, Friday night you’ll find special promotions, holiday treats, and street performances to spark your holiday joy! Enjoy a fabulous meal, a quick bite, or our talented mixologists’ creations at Oakland’s acclaimed restaurants and bars. In addition, explore our vibrant restaurant and bar community through an exciting treasure hunt. Visit participating businesses to capture "Instagrammable" moments along the way, and enter to win a prize!
After a day of restaurant and bar holiday hopping, indulge in a cozy dinner at Iron & Oak, located inside the Oakland Marriott City Center. Savor delectable cuisine and warm up with a customizable hot chocolate, perfect for a chilly winter night.
For the 21+ crowd, Children’s Fairyland will be hosting its ‘Twas the Night: Holiday Night Market. The adults only event will include seasonal bites paired with warm spiced drinks, dancing, unique gift finds, and more!
Joy to The Town! Day #2 | Saturday, December 14
Start your day right at the Oakland Coffee Market right before you head to Joy to The Town! This vibrant event, just a short walk away, showcases the city’s thriving coffee culture. Sample delicious brews, purchase unique coffee gifts, and even learn how to brew the perfect cup at home.

After a fun-filled day exploring all the offerings at Joy to the Town!, head over to the Fruitvale district for a holiday posada. For those looking for a late-night adventure, Oakland SantaCon will also be taking place on Saturday. Head to your favorite local bar to join the fun and festive crowd. Don’t forget your Santa hat!
