Drop into Creative Growth’s immersive Fashion Lab and create something you can’t wait to wear, in celebration of Oakland Style Week!
Fashion and self-expression have always been central to the Oakland identity and this is your invitation to reimagine, remix, and transform clothing into wearable art in our welcoming, professional studio environment.
Spend the afternoon engaging in hands-on fashion workshops, upcycling, and art-making for all ages, guided by Creative Growth artists and local professional creatives. From experimental textile techniques and couture-esque beading to inventive mixed-media approaches, you’ll find endless opportunities to spark your imagination and make something truly your own.
Your ticket includes access to artist-led instruction, plus all the materials and tools you’ll need. Bring your creativity and a piece from your closet ready for reinvention! Onsite, there will be vintage clothes available for upcycling, with a suggested donation.
Drop in. Get inspired. Walk out with something you made and can’t wait to wear.

The Style Seeker Pass - $55
Includes access to 3 art-making stations (collage, fabric painting, and embroidery) offering more ways to explore techniques and textures with guidance from Creative Growth artists. Materials included.
The All Access Atelier - $75
Unlock the full experience with access to all 7+ creative stations across the studio ($100+ value if purchased individually). Pick from collage, fabric painting, embroidery, PLUS: embellishing, sewing (hand sewing and machine), jewelry-making, and felting. Enjoy complete freedom to experiment, layer, and refine your fashion-forward creations. All materials and tools included.

About Creative Growth:
Creative Growth is a nonprofit organization that supports artists with disabilities. Founded in 1974 on the principle that art is fundamental to human expression and that all people are entitled to its tools of communication, Creative Growth was the first studio and gallery for artists with developmental disabilities. Artwork by Creative Growth artists is exhibited worldwide and is held in numerous public collections including the MoMA, The Centre Pompidou, SFMOMA, The Brooklyn Museum, LACMA, OMCA, and The Smithsonian American Art Museum.
