When you use the Visit Oakland website, or participate in our sponsored programs, promotions, sweepstakes, games, raffles or contests, we collect information that you submit to us and via “cookies” and other technologies as described below.

Online Services and RFP Forms
Some of the online services available with our website(s) require you to register for an account or provide personal information. You will be asked for applicable information to create an account, including name, email address and a preferred password for your account. We do not give, share, sell, rent or transfer any personal information to a third party, unless we have your consent.

To help us serve you better, we collect information that does not identify you personally, but rather identifies your computer or browser. Visit Oakland’s website currently does not respond to “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that provide consumers a choice regarding the collection of personally identifiable information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across third party online services.

We may be required to share your personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information pursuant to judicial or governmental subpoenas, warrants or orders. If we are legally required to do so, or, in good faith believe that we are legally required to do so, we will obey the law. Hotel & Ticket Bookings
We maintain and review e-mail correspondence that you send to us. We may use (and maintain in a file specific to you) the personally identifiable information disclosed in the e-mail. If you have made public posts from your other social media accounts that include our specialized hashtags, we may collect and use that information to learn more about you.
