Inspired by the legendary New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham, our Oakland Style street photographers will capture real-life stylemakers and the heart and soul of Oakland – OUR COMMUNITY.
Photographers Anthony Weaver and Patanisha Williams will be on the street from August through September to photograph Oakland Style. This will culminate in a breathtaking exhibit featuring 100 Faces of Oakland on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at our A Taste of Style event.
“The best fashion show is definitely on the street; always has been, and always will be.” – Bill Cunningham

About the Photographers
Anthony Weaver
Anthony Weaver, born and raised in Oakland, California, is a passionate photographer with a Bachelor's degree in Film from San Francisco State University. His photography journey began in middle school, sparking a lifelong love for capturing memories which now serve as a foundation for his work.
He specializes in events, headshots, and commercial photography for the Bay Area and beyond. With an affinity for authenticity and joy, he aims to reflect these elements in his photographs. Anthony is dedicated to capturing life's special moments and creating with love.
Patanisha Williams
Patanisha Williams, a fourth-generation Oaklander, is an accomplished cultural curator and photographer who emphasizes love as the central theme in her work. For her, photography is a tool for documenting, sharing, and healing. She often uses collage and the backdrop of Oakland to create “urban fantasyland” portraiture, capturing the magic of Oakland's people.
Patanisha views creative expression and wisdom as essential threads that bind generations, transmit culture, and restore communities. Her portraits and curatol work have been exhibited in both traditional and non-traditional spaces, including the Camron-Stanford House, Groundfloor Social Club, and Oakland’s beloved Joyce Gordon Gallery. It has also been seen in Diablo Magazine, Canvas Rebel, Oaklandside, Julian Glover-ABC News, and Eastbay Yesterday.
