Oakland Style (October 8-12, 2025) takes the traditional fashion week and expands it. Wednesday, October 8th: Opening Night Art Battles and a Mini Food Tour
It’s hard to mention Oakland and not mention food or art. We are also known for having a strong sense of community and giving back. So, an opening night that benefits two amazing non-profits is completely on-brand.
This year’s Art Clash, presented by the Bay Area Mural Program (BAMP), is back with a twist. Kick-off Oakland Style Week celebrating the art of Oakland and our Pioneer League Champions, the Oakland Ballers! You’ll see some of the best emerging artists show off their skills during the live painting competition, view live painting by The Luminaries, Graffiti Camp for Girls, and Leon Kennedy, and participate in the creation of the new Oakland Ballers Mural. This year Langstyn Avery will MC. Poet and visual artist Zoe Boston will take the stage, LaRussell’s band The Yee Section and GEO the Harpist will provide the soundtrack. The event is free to attend, but come ready to bid on art and support BAMP.
For the folks headed to the Dine Around Oakland Style, you’ll start with a drink at The Cat House, move to Bardo Lounge and Supper Club for a family style dinner, grab something sweet at M2, and have a night cap at The Barbary. Each location features live music and proceeds benefit the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center.
Thursday, October 9th: Ready to Choose the Official 2025 Oakland Style Cocktail?
Who makes the best drink in Oakland? Well that’s up to you and our special panel of judges. Try 12 drinks by 12 mixologists at Mixology + Music, a spirited competition, presented by Coramino Tequila and Proximo. The first place winner will receive $5,000 and bragging rights until next year.
Friday, October 10th: A Friday Afternoon to Breakout Your Sunday's Best
You know the dress you never get to wear? The outfit that you’ve been saving? Well, High Tea and High Style is the perfect event to show off your unique style and purchase a few standout pieces for your wardrobe. Located at the picturesque Claremont Resort and Spa, this modern tea featuring by Oakland -based designers Dorian Webb (fine jewelry), Lee Rickie (men’s clothing) and Lesley Evers (women’s clothing), will be the talk of the town.
Saturday, October 11th: Exhibitions, Art Walks, and Workshops
Calling all sneakerheads: The Art of Sneakers - Vol. 2, produced by SoleSpace Labs is back and offers an exhibit emphasizing sustainability, artist talks, and workshops so you can customize your own kicks. Loving the option for hands-on fashion activities, Creative Growth Fashion Labs is the perfect place for all things upcycling and art-making. And if you’re in the mood for a walking tour of local galleries – with live performances, wine, and creative conversations - then Oakland Art Murmur’s Arts Alive is definitely the event for you. The event boasts six galleries, six live performances, and work from more than 10 artists.
Saturday, October 12th: A Sunday for The Runway
Start your day at the Oakland Museum of California for Cuisine + Couture and witness the unique collaboration between 11 Oakland chefs and students from Oakland School for the Arts. After the fashion show, stick around to hear from the student designers and chefs.
Then head to the Black Cultural Zone in East Oakland for The Town’s Threads: A Living Runway. Celebrating the idea of Embracing Authentic Style Together (E.A.S.T.), the event will highlight various communities in Oakland showcasing their history and creativity.
This epic celebration is one of the best ways to get to know Oakland, our culture, and of course our style. Join us for the perfect fall kick-off and create memories that will make you want to come back every year.
With five days of activities taking place throughout The Town, local hotels are extending special rates to welcome visitors to experience everything that Oakland Style has to offer. When visitors book a room at one of the participating hotels, they receive two tickets to one of three signature Oakland Style events.
