Oakland Style is a vibrant celebration of the city's unique culture, fashion, and culinary scene. From October 9 to 13, immerse yourself in a week of exciting events that showcase the best of Oakland. Whether you are using AC Transit, Amtrak Capitol Corridor, Amtrak San Joaquins, BART, or even flying in to the San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport here's a suggested itinerary to make the most of your experience:
Day 1: Wednesday, October 9
Mixology Competition & Music: Kick off your Oakland Style adventure with a night of music and crafted cocktails. Join 11 of Oakland’s top mixologists from The Town’s hottest restaurants and bars as they compete to create the official 2024 Oakland-Style cocktail to benefit Community Kitchens!
Uptown Oakland Dining: Explore the diverse culinary scene of Uptown Oakland before or after the event. Choose from an array of options including Parche, alaMar Dominican Kitchen, MUA, Calabash, and so much more!
Day 2: Thursday, October 10
Fashion Forward at the Moxy Downtown: Visit Oakland and Oakland Style Lab invite you to this vibrant event that celebrates Oakland’s Rising Style Stars! Six local fashion designers will present their latest looks and share their creative collection perspectives. Enjoy a club fashion show, designer conversations, DJ music, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in Oakland Style!
Lunch or Early Dinner: Enjoy a delicious meal at Bocanova or Left Bank, both of which will be hosting special Oakland Style events.
Day 3: Friday, October 11
High Tea & High Fashion at the Claremont Club & Spa, A Fairmont Hotel: Guests will enjoy a contemporary tea service paired, bubbles and informal modeling, previewing the latest fashions from two of Oakland’s finest stylemakers; Sherri McMullen of McMullen Boutique, recognized as one of the most innovative retailers in the world by Vogue Business, and award-winning jewelry designer Dorian Webb. Get your tickets and shop at the stylish pop-up boutique for exquisitely designed jewelry pieces.
Jazz & Cocktails at the Oakland Marriott City Center: End your evening while sipping on some Claude Monet inspired craft cocktails. Also featuring creatively styled dishes by Executive Chef Boman Tam.
Day 4: Saturday, October 12
Art Walks and Gallery Tours: Join Oakland Art Murmur, for a series of exciting events and art walks across 12 different arts venues throughout Oakland, starting at 12:00 PM.
Self -Guided Vintage Tour: Embark on a Self-Guided Oakland Vintage Shopping Tour! There are over 40 stores selling vintage & antique clothing, records, furniture, and more.
A Taste of Style: Chefs from eight of Oakland’s MICHELIN-recommended restaurants will each prepare a stylish dish inspired by famous artists. Cocktail and Hors d'oeuvre reception, four-course dinner with wine pairings, and fashion show to benefit Oakland Art Murmur and Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). The fashion show will feature creatively styled vintage looks from the Oakland Museum Women's Board famed and beloved White Elephant Sale.
Day 5: Sunday, October 13
Ladies Sing the Blues Brunch: Close out Oakland Style week with a Lady Sings the Blues Brunch featuring Chef Michele McQueen’s famous Southern cuisine!
The Art of Sneakers, Vol. 1: Produced by Sole Space Lab, THE ART OF SNEAKERS features works by 15 top creators in this rapidly growing field of fashion. Be sure to join us for an artist talk with top customizer Vicky Vuong, co-host of the Apple podcast "Best Foot Forward," and "The Future of Footwear" display by design students from California College of the Arts.
