SLATE contemporary, is a retail gallery, show room, and exhibition venue in Oakland CA where we produce six shows each year featuring the forty artists on the gallery’s roster. The gallery is known for its emphasis on abstract painting and photography, but also features figurative, landscape, nature-based work, as well as mixed-media art, and sculpture. We work closely with collectors, researching and crafting bespoke proposals. Communications will often start digitally, then advance to a private viewing appointment at the gallery to see a shortlist of selected works, before bringing artwork to a client’s home for final approval and installation. SLATE contemporary also works closely with interior designers and art consultants, helping them to source art for their private residential clients.

SLATE Art is based in Oakland, CA, and has a consultant based in Wine Country. We serve clients all over the San Francisco Bay Area, including Hillsborough, Atherton, Burlingame,  and San Mateo on the Peninsula, Ross, Mill Valley, and Tiburon in Marin, and Napa and Sonoma in the North Bay.  We travel regularly to the North Lake Tahoe area to help collectors with homes at Martis Camp and Northstar. We are naturally also deeply connected to collectors in the East Bay communities including Piedmont, Berkeley, Oakland, Orinda, and Lafayette. With a national reach, our gallery regularly ships works of art to collectors across the country, including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Colorado, North Carolina, and Hawaii, among many many others. Over the last few years, our commercial Art Consulting division has also completed contracted projects for corporate clients in Utah, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Virginia; and throughout California from Reno to Los Angeles, Pasadena, Anaheim, Ontario, and San Diego, among others.
