Oakland's Own is a Black-owned and operated family business! The Ford Family, native East Oakland residents, owns and operates the business.

In March of 2015, we set out to change Oakland Fashion from the stale and bland atmosphere provided by some. We debuted the Circled Oak Tree logo, which features the Oakland Coat of Arms Tree, with one box of hoodies. The box also contained the first set, which was donated to residents in need and community leaders, thereby launching the original Oakland Helping Oakland Program, now known as the Fordtown Foundation.

Oakland’s Own is a customer-centric apparel line. We seek to establish fruitful and mutual relationships with our customers by listening to their needs and driving maximum satisfaction. Oakland Own’s is committed to using durable, quality fabric to deliver top-quality apparel products.

We pride ourselves on attending local community events to build brand awareness and create relationships.

Our vision is to make Oakland's Own the most preferred apparel line within and beyond the city of Oakland.

Giving Back

Since 2015, we have committed to improving the community. That’s why we have established a corporate social responsibility policy. We channel a percentage of profit to Fordtown Foundation (formerly Oakland Helping Oakland Program). This nonprofit organization seeks to leverage existing resources, skills, and talents to empower the Oakland and more significant Bay Area communities.
