Co-owned by Sophia Akbar and Paul Iglesias, Jaji takes its name from Akbar’s ancestral Pashtun tribe and her grandfather’s last name. The menu, developed in collaboration with Akbar’s mother and grandmother, honors Afghan-American heritage, while the space reflects the country’s rich culture.
