Chabot Space & Science Center is Oakland’s home for science!
Chabot Space & Science Center is a non-profit institution and community resource located on 13 trail-laced acres in Redwood Regional Park in Oakland amid the largest stand of coastal redwoods in the East Bay.
Chabot features a 241-seat full dome planetarium, interactive and hands-on exhibits, space artifacts, a giant screen theater, a Challenger Learning Center, and the only research-level telescopes regularly available to the public for weekly live viewing in the Western United States. There are also numerous hands-on science and technology exhibits.
Chabot’s mission is to inspire and educate learners of all ages about the Universe and Planet Earth.
General Admission hours are Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Get your tickets today!
VISITOR GUIDELINES UPDATE
While the mask mandate has been lifted in Alameda County, Chabot’s mask policy remains the same until further notice. All visitors ages 2+ are required to continue wearing masks at the Center unless eating or drinking. Guided by our best understanding of current science, this supports the health of our community and allows us to provide fun and engaging learning experiences. We will closely monitor data and guidance from local health officials and the CDC as our policy evolves. Please be sure to check the website before your visit for the most current information.Hours
