Ceremony is an exciting all ages 1000 person capacity Black and Asian owned music venue opening in Oakland’s historic DIY scene. A carefully curated, no frills design will set the stage for a best in class, state of the art sound system that will compel the audience’s attention towards the dance floor. This will currently be the only venue in the East Bay with a proper D&B Audiotechnik A-Series 4-point system, the ideal technology to effectively handle both live bands and electronic/dj acts alike. It’s the only venues of its size in Oakland proper.
To that note, Ceremony resides in the heart of downtown, just steps from the 12th Street Bart Station where access is easy and visibility is high. With continuous downtown development, general city wide growth and residents eager for more local entertainment options, Ceremony will be a defining staple of nightlife culture in Oakland.
Supplying a space for melding different subcultures, music genres and ideas, Ceremony will not only be a melting pot of culture, but a place for servicing the community. Whether it's exchanging ideas over happy hour or offering the space to nonprofit and community events, we not only want to be involved with our community, we want to uplift the community as well . Booking genres across the board as well as opening the venue to local booking powerhouses, international brands and full service event planners, Ceremony will be coming with a unique aesthetic and brand, rare to the city and music industry.
Also included are outdoor block party capabilities, ranging from 500-3000 cap to a nearby city approved 6k cap, in addition to our sister venue Crybaby (600 cap, 6 blocks away).
