About
KTTC partners with Bar Shiru to host a weekly low volume, intimate piano performance event during Bar Shiru’s Monday Happy Hour slot from 5-7pm. A vintage Fender Rhodes electric piano is setup to play through a vintage Fender tube amplifier. Artists are encouraged to come hang out at the reserved table. Any artist that plays gets one free drink.
Bar Shiru is the Bay Area's first hi-fi vinyl listening bar, established in 2019 in Oakland, California. Inspired by Japanese jazz kissa, it emphasizes "slow listening" of full albums, particularly in genres like jazz, soul, and international grooves. The bar offers a selection of craft cocktails, Japanese whisky, local beer, wine, and sake, in an acoustically optimized environment for both listening and conversation. Bar Shiru aims to foster a community spirit, hosting special events and music programming alongside its regular vinyl sessions.
