Oakland has earned its place on the national stage as the #1 Best Food City in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler readers in 2024 and 2025, and once you’ve experienced it, it’s easy to see why. Global flavors line walkable neighborhoods, inviting exploration one block at a time. Oakland Restaurant Week invites you to try something new. This year, over 130 participating restaurants across the Town are offering special menus, new discoveries, and reasons to gather around the table. Let AC Transit get you there!
The Oakland Transit Tasting Trail celebrates the spirit of discovery while highlighting the role transit plays in connecting people to Oakland’s culinary destinations. For 65 years, AC Transit has served the East Bay, providing bus service that brings riders into the heart of the action, steps away from neighborhood favorites, and new spots waiting to be explored.
This series highlights neighborhood restaurants along AC Transit’s core bus lines, highlighting how easy it is to get there by bus.
Riding transit is one of the best ways to experience Oakland Restaurant Week. Leave the car at home to create a carefree evening where the focus stays on the food, the company, and the neighborhood around you. Traveling by bus also opens the door to unexpected discoveries, a café you hadn’t noticed before, a dessert stop down the block, or the chance to explore multiple restaurants in one outing.
Skip parking stress, expiring meters, and traffic. Hop off the bus just steps away from your reservation.
Plan your visit using the AC Transit Mobile App and explore all the neighborhood dining options along the way. There are many ways to pay, via Clipper card, cash, the mobile app, and now contactless debit or credit cards. With free two‑hour transfers available with eligible fare payment, hop on, hop off, and experience Oakland Restaurant Week one stop at a time.
