COVID Update: Temporarily closed. Events are currently postponed or cancelled.
The Fox Oakland Theater, on Telegraph Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets, operated as a first-run movie house from 1928 until 1962. Today it hosts concerts by various recognizable artists. In 2009, after being closed for 40 years, the Fox Theater reopened as a live music venue, art school, and restaurant. The $75 million restoration and bustling Uptown Oakland location made it an instant favorite among touring artists and fans.
