Oakland Urban Wine Trail

A trip to Oakland isn’t complete without tasting a little local flavor. Like everything else in Oakland, our wine scene is a little different. Oakland’s urban wineries are housed in renovated warehouse spaces, but the wine quality is second to none. Being so close to California wine country doesn’t hurt either, grapes are sourced from all over the state. Head out on Oakland’s Urban Wine Trail, stopping along the way to shopeat, and explore all that Oakland has to offer.

Most of the trail is walkable, and easily accessible by ferryBART, Oakland’s free Broadway shuttle and Amtrak

Redeem your exclusive Oakland Urban Wine Trail Wine & Cheese Tote Bag by collecting stamps at each winery with purchase of at least 1 bottle OR by signing up for 3 separate wine club memberships.

Looking for locally produced drink options other than wine? Head over to our Oakland Ale Trail to learn about the many breweries and other craft beer destinations in Oakland.

Côte refers to a hillside, seashore, border, or one of those rare sloped regions that are home to the world's most interesting vineyards. Our wine grapes originate from distinct Californian sites with unique weather patterns, terrain, and soils that lend themselves to excellent wine. And yet our practices resemble those more commonly found in Burgundy: we pick early to ensure lively acidity and lower alcohol, and we minimize sulfur and other additions. We bring the best of these worlds together...

Together we are creating something unique and exploring the vast, yet nascent world of winemaking in California. We produce natural wines with a focus on single vineyard sites - AKA "the good stuff that we like to drink." This means sourcing organically or Biodynamically farmed grapes and not manipulating them in the cellar. We’ve partnered with incredible growers who we’re proud to call...

After an unforgettable internship with Donkey and Goat in 2011, Nick did two great things. First, he proposed to his now wife. Second, he took her on a bike tour exploring the wine regions of France. That trip culminated at Domaine Binner in Alsace, where they worked to create the 2012 vintage and began to dream of a winery of their own. Back in California, Nick had the opportunity to work at Navarro Vineyards to continue to refine his skill and love of winemaking. In 2014, Tintype Winery was...
