First Friday will be taking over the streets of KONO on May 4th
On Telegraph Ave. from W. Grand to 27th St. 5:00-9:00pm
Oakland First Friday Street Festival, a community program of the KONO (Koreatown Northgate) Community Benefit District, is an inclusive art- and community-centered experience. Every First Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM, Oakland's cultural art community gathers to experience street artists, food artisans, craft makers, performers, musicians, dancers, live painters, DJ's, poets, literary events and more! The monthly event attracts up to 30,000 people from all across the Bay Area and beyond to experience the amazing, eclectic talent of Oakland. May 4th will celebrate women in the arts.
Women everywhere are changing the world. Some of these world changers can be found right here in the Oakland First Fridays street festival. As we come together this month to celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re giving recognition to the women who create, do, make and participate in First Fridays. When you come out to Art Is Women you’ll be supporting small local artists, food makers, performers and retailers run by women of the Bay Area and beyond.
