The Caffè by Mr. Espresso, nestled in the Key at 12th in the heart of Downtown, is a stunning, contemporary coffee bar that doubles as an homage to the rich, tradition of Italian coffee culture. Walk in and you will not find the usual coffee shop queue but will take a place at the bar for full service — place your order, settle the tab, and then remain to savor your beverage, much as it’s done in Italy.

When it comes to coffee, of course, The Caffè exclusively serves oakwood roasted from the Di Ruocco family’s 45-year-old, Oakland-based roastery — Mr. Espresso. In addition to lauded espresso blends, there are a variety of drip coffee offerings to satisfy every palate. Award-winning, single-origin options alongside meticulously blended coffees, for light roast to dark roast drinkers, alike. Beyond the customary coffeehouse offerings, the beverage menu features handcrafted specialty drinks, many with locally sourced ingredients such as the TCHO Mocha and the Oaktown Spice Golden Latte.

Others are “Ital-centric’, like the indulgent Nocciola-tte infused with luscious hazelnut praliné paste, and the invigorating Shakerato—an Italian specialty of chilled, shaken espresso. Other favorites are the Butterscotch Latte made with housemade butterscotch, Matcha Latte, and Horchata Cold Brew. In addition to seasonal specialties, The Caffè launched a popular chef collaboration series, featuring some of the Bay Area’s best!
