Conceived from a love of food and community, Agave Uptown made its debut in July 2016 at the Kapor Center for Social Impact in Oakland, CA. Located in the heart of Uptown Oakland, Agave sets the standard for authentic Oaxacan cuisine in the area.
Agave Uptown draws from the artisanal tradition and rich cultural history of Oaxaca, Executive Chef Octavio Diaz’s hometown. Our authentic mole is an exotic and incredibly rich creation made from 20+ secret ingredients that Executive Chef Octavio Diaz brings from Oaxaca several times per year. Our Oaxacan-style food is made in-house daily with a strong focus on farm-raised ingredients and handmade cooking.
Mezcal Origin - Small batch Mezcal with Oaxacan origin is crafted into a diverse range of quality cocktails.
