Oakland Restaurant Week FAQs

What is Oakland Restaurant Week?

Oakland Restaurant Week (ORW) dates have been set for January 9-20, 2020. This year will mark the 10th edition of ORW and we are excited for another year of highlighting the incredible culinary offerings throughout Oakland. This program allows Visit Oakland to drive attention to all of our restaurants, and encourage both locals and visitors alike to explore new dining options, or revisit some of their old favorites to enjoy special menu offerings. Below are a few things to consider as you get ready for Restaurant Week.

What are the ways my restaurant can participate?
  1. Develop a special prix-fixe menu. Create menus for brunch, lunch, dinner, or all of the above! You are not limited in the number of menus you can have, and can create different menus for different price points or meals. The price points are set at $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, $60, $70 & $80 to ensure consumers can easily search through menus on the website.

  2. Cocktail, Wine or Beer Pairings. To accompany your prix fixe menu, you can develop a beverage pairing menu for guests to add-on to their meal.

  3. Are you a chef with a new restaurant opening in 2020 in Oakland? Give attendees a taste of your new restaurant by hosting a pop-up food event. Submit more details here. Please note, pop-ups must be held in Oakland during ORW (January 9-20, 2020).

How do I register my restaurant for Oakland Restaurant Week?

This year we will be utilizing the Oakland Partner Portal for all ORW registrations and menu postings. Once you create a Oakland Restaurant Week listings, you will automatically be registered for ORW 2020. By utilizing the Oakland Partner Portal you will be able to upload your menu as soon as it is finalized, which will streamline the process, ensuring your information gets in front of the consumer as quickly as possible.

Step-by-step instructions on how to add your Oakland Restaurant listing in the Partner Portal are posted here (and also in the “Partner Bulletins” section of the Portal).

If you have not previously had log-in access to the Oakland Partner Portal, please reach out to Partnerships Specialist, Jaymee Rayford (jaymee@visitoakland.com).

Will the Alameda County Community Food Bank be partnering this year?

Yes! We are excited to once again work with the ACCFB and support the incredible work they do in our community. A portion of the proceeds from all ORW events & activations will be donated directly to the Alameda County Community Food Bank
