Oakland Restaurant Week FAQs

What is Oakland Restaurant Week?

Oakland Restaurant Week (ORW) dates have been set for January 11-21, 2018. This year will mark the 8th edition of ORW and we are excited for another year of highlighting the incredible culinary offerings throughout Oakland. This program allows Visit Oakland to drive attention to all of our restaurants, and encourage both locals and visitors alike to explore new dining options, or revisit some of their old favorites to enjoy special menu offerings. Below are a few things to consider as you get ready for Restaurant Week.

What are the ways my restaurant can participate?

  1. Develop a special prix-fixe menu. Create menus for lunch, dinner, or both! You are not limited in the number of menus you can have, and can create different menus for different price points or meals. The price points are set at $10, $20, $30, $40, and $50 to ensure consumers can easily search through menus on the website.

  2. Create a unique dining experience. We are partnering with Feastly to showcase unique dining experience in Oakland during ORW. If you would like to create a special dining experience (Chef’s Table, Wine Pairing meal, etc.) please let us know and we can get the information input to our Feastly landing page. The unique dining experience can be in addition to, or instead of a prix-fixe menu.

How do I register my restaurant for Oakland Restaurant Week?

This year we will be utilizing the Oakland Partner Portal for all ORW registrations and menu postings. By utilizing the Oakland Partner Portal you will be able to upload your menu as soon as it is finalized, which will streamline the process, ensuring your information gets in front of the consumer as quickly as possible. If you have not previously had log-in access to the Oakland Partner Portal, please reach out to Destination Development Coordinator Jaymee Rayford (jaymee@visitoakland.com). Step-by-step instructions on how to add your Oakland Restaurant listing are posted in the “Partner Bulletins” section of the Portal.

Will the Alameda County Community Food Bank be partnering this year?

Yes! We are excited to once again work with the ACCFB and support the incredible work they do in our community. All restaurants who commit to donating to the ACCFB during Oakland Restaurant Week will receive a special call out on the ORW website. We recommend donating a portion of the profits 1-5% or creating a special cocktail whose profits can be donated.

Are sponsorships available?

Yes, we have two levels ($500/$1,000) for restaurant sponsorship. Please contact Marketing Manager Lisa Baird (lisa@visitoakland.com) for more information.
