Oakland Sweets Spirit & The Beyond Food Tour

Oakland Sweets Spirit & The Beyond Food Tour

About

Just in time for Halloween!  Come join us for a spook-tacular historical tour filled with cupcakes, cocktails and a guided walk through two spectacular cemeteries, one listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our Oakland Sweets Spirits and The Beyond Food Tour is not your typical Oakland ghost tour.

This two-hour cemetery tour highlights Piedmont Avenue’s hidden gems: Mountain View Cemetery and the Chapel of the Chimes, famously designed and built by Julia Morgan.

We've extended the tour to two hours as to also include a picturesque walk to Millionaire's Row where you'll enjoy Ghirardelli chocolate squares at the final resting place of chocolatier Domingo Ghirardelli. Guests will also enjoy:

  • Devilishly delicious mini Red Velvet and Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes from La Farine Bakery to kick off the tour
  • Perfectly-crafted tropical Mai Tai from authentic tiki bar Kona Club to toast the life ... and death of creator Trader Vic, who is entombed at Mountain View Cemetery (non-alcoholic option also available for those not imbibing).

Locals, new-in-town-ers, and visitors alike will love learning the area’s dead history—with a decidedly October seasonal twist. It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity to enjoy tastes of the area’s culinary best while immersing yourself in the true “spirit” of Oakland.

In true pumpkin spice latte spirit, this tour is seasonal and only offered on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October. Don’t miss it!
