About

Oakland Freedom Run | The First Annual Freedom Run & Community Wellness Festival

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Black Panther Party, on the 100th year anniversary Black History Month, February 2026. Join us on a symbolic run to represent the ongoing journey towards freedom, justice, and health equity. Participate and nourish in a free community wellness festival, supported by local healthcare providers, mental health services, and community organizations.

ABOUT THE FREEDOM RUN

A 5K run starting and ending at Raimondi Park, West Oakland. Runners will pass historic Black Panther Party landmarks.

Join us in a run, or walk, to represent our ongoing journey towards freedom, justice, and health equity. This event has an emphasis on community, not competition. Participate and fundraise for important teams and community-based organizations to continue their work.

Open to all community members of all ages and fitness levels. Registration fee on sliding-scale contribution, with all proceeds going towards the current survival programs by the Black Panther Party Alumni Legacy Network.

ABOUT THE HEALTH & WELLNESS FESTIVAL

Visit a multitude of information booth by local healthcare providers, mental health services, and community organizations, providing free services. Free health screenings (blood pressure, glucose, vision, etc.), free food, massage, haircuts, clothing, toys, harm reduction and hygiene supplies.
