This one-night-only culinary experience kicks off the Hella Juneteenth Festival with an evening of cultural depth, sensory storytelling, and forward-thinking Black creativity. Presented by Hella Creative and Last Supper Society, the evening also marks the opening of Futureproof: Blueprints For Black Futures— a groundbreaking AI-powered art exhibition at OMCA.
What to expect:
Each course is designed by a visionary Black chef who interprets the past, present, or future of Black cuisine. From ancestral recipes to experimental expressions, every dish is a story—a portal into the evolving legacy of Black foodways.
This is culinary time travel.
Each chef will present a course that reflects their perspective on the enduring legacy of Black food. Their stories are brought to life through the Futureproof AI installation, which transforms their narratives into generative visual artworks in real time—blending culinary innovation with speculative imagery to imagine what lies ahead.
Guests are also invited to interact with the AI art installation that transforms spoken word into real-time imagery. The exhibition invites participants to speak their visions of a liberated Black future—and watch them come to life as visual artwork.

About Last Supper Society
Last Supper Society (LSS) is a Black-owned experiential creative house and culinary design studio that uses food as a technology for storytelling. Chef Byron Hughes and Ryan Royster lead LSS, which is known for designing immersive culinary moments that reflect the richness of Black expression.
