If you have never been to the Dept. of Make / Believe (Oakland's only magical burearacy with [possibly] Oakland's only pneumatic tube]), this is a great opportunity to check it out.
The Dept. of Make / Believe is both and interactive retail store and the portal by which Chapter 510's community of young writers enters their made-in-Oakland youth writing center. It is a place where you buy buy books written by kids and for kids, and where you can cast a spell on a Spelling Tree, file and official Creative Manifestation, and Feed the Tube magic in exchange for affirmations.
On Sat. August 31, from 5pm-8pm, we are inviting folks in for yummy elixirs and to introduce our new (Somewhat) Personalized Pneumatic Poetry Prescription Service. Come on down with what ails you and we will send you poems (written by youth) that will possibly make your existential fright, burnout, or imposter syndrome a little bit better. Or at least you'll be one poem richer!
We will also be having a MEGA sale, and a few new weird and wonderous products for your real or imaginary needs.
