About
One of soft rock’s most iconic and enduring duos, Air Supply has been captivating audiences around the world for over four decades. Formed in 1975 when British-born singer-songwriter Graham Russell met powerhouse Australian vocalist Russell Hitchcock during a production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Sydney, the pair discovered an instant musical chemistry. They began performing together, blending Graham’s heartfelt songwriting with Russell’s soaring tenor voice, creating a sound that would come to define their legacy. The group’s early years were spent touring the Australian pub circuit, where they quickly built a loyal following. Their first single, “Love and Other Bruises,” became a national hit and caught the attention of CBS Records, leading to their debut album.
Air Supply’s breakthrough came in 1980 with the release of Lost in Love, which launched three Top 5 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including the title track, “All Out of Love,” and “Every Woman in the World.” This success marked the beginning of a remarkable run through the 1980s, as the duo became synonymous with lush, emotional ballads and heartfelt storytelling. Follow-up albums such as The One That You Love and Now and Forever solidified their place on the charts, with timeless classics like “Even the Nights Are Better,” “Making Love Out of Nothing at All,” and “Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You).” Air Supply earned a reputation for delivering deeply romantic music with cinematic production, earning multiple platinum albums and selling out arenas worldwide.
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, the band continued to tour extensively, delighting fans across Asia, the Americas, and beyond. They became particularly beloved in Southeast Asia, where they remain one of the most popular touring acts to this day. In 2003, they released Across the Concrete Sky, proving their creative spark had not faded, followed by Mumbo Jumbo in 2010, which showcased a more contemporary sound while staying true to their signature style. Air Supply’s music has been featured in films, television, and countless wedding playlists, making them a perennial favorite for romantics of every generation.
Their live shows are celebrated for their intimacy and emotional resonance, with Graham and Russell often stepping into the audience to connect personally with fans. Despite changing musical trends, Air Supply has maintained an enduring appeal thanks to their sincerity, distinctive sound, and dedication to their craft. They have earned countless accolades, including being inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 2013. Today, Air Supply continues to record and perform to sold-out audiences worldwide, proving that their music — like the love stories they sing about — truly stands the test of time.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Over 100 Million Albums Sold Worldwide, Eight Top 10 U.S. Singles, Multiple Platinum and Gold Albums, Continuous Global Touring for Over Four Decades, 2013 ARIA Hall of Fame Inductees, and a Dedicated Multigenerational Fan Base.
