Take a Walking Tour of Nine Residential Kitchens in the Historic Rockridge District of Oakland – See Innovative Renovations Where Design, Function, and Style Come Together Beautifully
Is there anyone who hasn’t dreamt of remodeling their kitchen?
If that is your current or future dream, you will want to check out the 15th biennial Rockridge Kitchen Tour from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, October 13, presented by the Rockridge Community Planning Council (RCPC), a non-profit, public benefit corporation.
The self-guided tour features eight newly remodeled kitchens and two ADUs in Oakland’s popular Rockridge neighborhood in a wide variety of design styles and living spaces. As you visit the home kitchens in this signature Arts & Crafts neighborhood, you will experience the vibrant Rockridge district, with its fine dining and eclectic shopping.
With the very latest in kitchen design, the Rockridge Kitchen Tour features innovative uses of new and traditional materials, interesting floor plans, amazing transformations of larger spaces and creative solutions for smaller kitchens. Docents with extensive knowledge of the remodels will be on hand to answer questions about each owner’s goals and challenges. The tour brochure is a treasure trove for both design enthusiasts and future renovators.

The Rockridge Kitchen Tour is the RCPC’s primary fundraiser. Past tours have funded a variety of community projects including restoration of the Rockridge BART Plaza, renovations at Frog Park and new trees along College Avenue. It also funds the RCPC Community Grants Program, which is awarded to individuals proposing small projects that beautify the neighborhood, as well as community events like the annual Halloween Parade on College Avenue.
