Dominic is a star on la parrilla, and if you haven’t stopped by Tacos el Ultimo Baile to get some of his delicious tacos, you need to do that ASAP! Setting up his popular truck in Oakland (usually under the trees at Lake Merritt these days, but follow him for updates!), Dominic has found great success with anyone who crosses his taco line. Check out his favorite things to do in Oakland.
For Dominic, his number one favorite thing about The Town is the people. You never know who you’re going to meet and what stories they possess. If you’re a social butterfly, we suggest chatting with local vendors as you support their businesses. With artists, wine shop owners, and café roasters, the possibilities are endless!
Everyone loves Lake Merritt, but Old Oakland all the way up to Uptown is where Dominic likes to spend his time. He finds so many interesting things to see, like historic architecture, and familiar faces along the way.

Dominic’s favorite food spot in Oakland is Teni East Kitchen. From the decor, to the music, to the service, this place has it all! The food has been the most consistent out of any spot he’s tried. They inspire him (aww!).
When it comes to having fun or exploring other hidden gems, Dominic has some tips for those experiences, too!
Dominic used to make tacos on boat parties that would cruise around the bay, under the Bay Bridge and back to Jack London Square. We agree that this is an amazing way to spend time in Oakland and on the Bay. You get gorgeous views of the Bay and Oakland when you’re out on the water. It’s a must!
He (and we) can’t make a list without mentioning going to the Oakland Coliseum and watching the A’s continue to make magic! #RootedinOakland
From chatting with the locals, eating yummy food (including his) to taking cruises, Dominic’s top picks of things to do in Oakland will definitely have you seeing things from his side.
