Q. Where is the first place you take your friends and family from out of town in Oakland?
A. A walking tour of Downtown and Uptown. There is so much historic architecture and lots of great spots to grab a drink!
Q. What’s your favorite secret spot in Oakland?
A. I like getting an helado at Nieves Cinco de Mayo and eating it at Fruitvale Bart Station plazita as I people watch.
Q. Where would someone most likely find you on the weekend?
A. I’m always out getting a coffee, checking out different farmers markets, and plant shopping at different local nurseries.
Q. Describe your Oakland in 3 words?
A. Communal, creative, rooted.
Q. Where is one of your favorite travel destinations in the world?
A. Mexico City! It is truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You’re never done exploring.
Q. What is your go-to happy hour drink?
A. Glass of Malbec.
Q. What do you love about your job?
A. I’m excited to share how awesome Oakland is and why people should experience it.
Q. Describe who you are in 140 characters or less.
A. Latina, East Bay native, beer and wine drinker, wanderluster, and fan of local love.
Q. Best place to shop in Oakland?
A. Any of the cool local pop-up markets at Jack London Square. You can find food, drinks, vintage and hand-made finds. But I'm biased because my parents took me there as a kid and I have amazing memories of the old wooden building that housed cool little shops. :)
